A Raisin in the Sun

Drama by Lorraine Hansberry, Directed by Wanda Wright-Gilkey.

A moving realistic drama essentially about dreams, as a working-class black family struggles against economic hardships, racial prejudice and the oppressive circumstances that rule their lives. How will a $10,000 insurance check be spent? Mama's dream is to make a down payment on a house in a white neighborhood, while Walter Lee dreams to invest in a liquor store. The famous poet Langston Hughes posed in a poem he wrote about dreams that were forgotten, or put off; he wonders whether those dreams shrivel up like "A Raisin in the Sun".

Price: $19 ($17 Seniors/Students)
