Jack White's other band to release new album in one week
The Raconteurs pulled a Radiohead (kind of) by announcing it would release its sophomore album, “Consolers of the Lonely” on March 25 without any prior interviews or advertisements.
According to a press release, the purpose is to get the album to fans, the press and the radio at the exact same time, “so that no one has an upper hand on anyone else regarding its availability, reception or perception.”
Made up of the White Stripes’ Jack White, along with Brendan Benson, Patrick Keeler and Jack Lawrence, the Raconteurs released their first album, “Broken Boy Soldiers,” in 2006.
