Seinfeld's reign of terror ends

Well, that didn’t take very long.

Microsoft is announcing that the nation will no longer be subjected to Jerry Seinfeld in their commercials — after spending $10 million to get him.

The comic appeared in only two ads. Check them out here and here.

Microsoft is spinning it as a move that has been long planned.

Of course, we all know that this has nothing to do with the rampant criticism of the commercials. No, I’m sure this was the plan all along.

Tell me another one, Microsoft.

Huh, I must be strange. I actually kind of liked those commercials.

I live in Chicago and I saw more than 2 of these commercials. I think I saw 4 or so… and the last one looked like they were wrapping it up. So I don’t really take this very short opinion piece as fact, since this guy obviously didn’t do his research to find out that more than 2 different commercials aired. I think that it must’ve been planned. James, look up the last one they aired and get back to the MSU community…

interesting view point, what are you 19 and a world arts and culture major? the rampant criticism was loud and unabashed in regarding the first one, but the second one actually got good press, reviews, and from the comments above a pretty warm response from the avg. person.

so… might be interesting to see what else comes up, or out from these guys, because it’s unlikely they dropped $10 mil (and how was that confirmed – adweek said 7), if there wasn’t a “plan” behind it.

i truly hope this isn’t the argument one of your class grades is depending on.
