Wow, I have a blog?
I apologize for the lack of updates. It (probably) won’t happen again.
So what do I return with? The announcement that Google is open sourcing Android.
Android, for those unaware, is Google’s attempt to enter the mobile phone sector. Many saw the cell phone operating system as a shot across Apple’s bow, given the proximity of the announcement of the OS to the announcement of the iPhone.
Of course, the iPhone was widely adopted. Android? Not so much.
Making it open source is probably one way to stem the tide. A large segment of the tech-savvy culture loves open source. Expect the OS to be flooded with tons of new programs, many of which will of course simply be designed to do things the iPhone already can.
