Super duo Outkast to start 2009 right

From reading your comments, you may not care for the reunion of No Doubt, but I think three albums from OutKast in 2009 could raise some excitement.

Big Boi, one half of the hip-hop duo, recently told MTV.com he finished recording his second solo album, while André 3000 is working on finishing his. They are waiting to drop their solo albums in January or February, Big Boi said.

This implies the talented twosome will collectively release their albums as they did with 2003’s 10-time platinum and Grammy Award-winning album “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.”

As if that wasn’t enough, Big Boi went on to say there will also be an OutKast group album coming out later in the year, after the solo albums. The guys haven’t done a group album since 2006’s “Idlewild,” which went along with their musical film of the same name.

These guys have a lot on their plates right now, but if they do accomplish the seemingly impossible, it looks like the music scene of 2009 will start off with a bang.
