  • Feist and Gibbard make perfect match

I’m not really a fan of Death Cab for Cutie. I don’t dislike it, per say, I just never really got into it. And I think the name is kind of stupid. But besides that point, in an odd turn of events, I almost always find myself a fan of singer Ben Gibbard’s side projects.

  • Moore could negatively affect Adams' music

I’m going to veer off a strictly music topic to address my biggest music-related concern in the last week.

  • Some Grammy performances seemed 'epic'

The Grammys are not really something that excites me, so to speak. I don’t really like Coldplay and Paula Abdul’s dresses and hair always piss me off. However, this year I was pleased to discover that not only was Lil’ Wayne nominated for eight awards, but he was performing live. Not only was he performing, but so were two of my other favorite faces in current pop music, Justin Timberlake and T.I.

  • Freddie Mercury warms up cold mornings

Today, I was walking to class, listening to the headphones I had stolen from my brother (don’t worry, he deserves it) when I realized to just what extent my ears were actually freezing off.

  • The Cool Kids live up to title

There was a minute there when everyone was wondering who those super-hip, nerdy-chic kids that popped out of the TV on the Rhapsody commercial were. Clad from head to toe in wolf T-shirts and neon windbreakers, the Cool Kids were on the tip of everyone’s tongue for just a moment.

  • Banjo music makes a comeback

Christopher Walken went on “Saturday Night Live” and created an infamous “in-studio” moment with a fake Blue Oyster Cult by declaring his need for more cowbell to a flailing, belly-baring Will Ferrell. I am here today to tell one and all that I have a similar ailment, and that unlike Walken, the only prescription for me is more banjo.

  • Beyonce's new name a little too 'fierce'

In the grand tradition of artists mistaking getting too big for their britches with getting too big for their “real” name, an impressive case of delusion has struck again in the realm of fame.

  • Perfect playlist can cure winter blues

I don’t know about you, but the seasons seriously affect what I want playing in my headphones. I don’t know if it’s the drag of the second semester starting or the fact that we live in the grossest climate possible until March (I’m trying to be optimistic), but it brings out a very specific musical mood in me. So in an effort to be prepared for the upcoming storm, I’m gonna go ahead and start this blog off right with what will hopefully be my foolproof winter playlist. After all, a go-to plan never hurt anyone.
