Campus Center Cinemas strikes out this week
Living on campus provides an endless supply of events to explore.
Campus Center Cinemas consistently draws lots of undergraduate on-campus students for quality movies, like last week’s “Step Brothers” and “Pineapple Express.”
This week, however, the movies are mostly all subpar, even though they were supposed to be summer hits.
“The Love Guru” is a movie made well past Mike Myers’ prime and is a sad addition to his résumé. Besides Justin Timberlake’s decent role, the movie can easily be bypassed as something that probably shouldn’t have made the theaters.
“The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” was a complete waste of time. Brendan Fraser hasn’t been in a good movie, since … wait, was he ever in a good movie?
“Tropic Thunder” was a bright spot of the summer, but still doesn’t equal a movie like “Pineapple Express.” The roles were well cast and played well and the movie should be seen, something that can’t be said about the other two.
Campus Center Cinemas do a great job bringing movies to students for free, and they try there best to bring in good movies, they just didn’t hit the spot this week.
