Get off the couch — there's plenty to do in E.L. this weekend

As the three-day Halloween holiday starts tonight, there are countless things to do.

First and foremost, if you don’t have costume yet, you might want to get on it. At this point, Halloween stores are out of virtually every decent costume, so you’ll have to get creative with things you already have.

Once your costume is crafted, a good bet is to hit any number of local parties. Even if you aren’t a big partier, there will be plenty of humorous, scary and interesting costumes abound to keep you amused.

Thursday through Sunday, Campus Center Cinemas in Wells Hall will show eight Halloween-themed movies — “Psycho,” “Hocus Pocus,” “The Amityville Horror,” “The Shining,” “Beetlejuice,” “The Exorcism of Emily Rose,” “Corpse Bride” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”

Friday holds Spartan HallowSCREAM, an event for the whole campus with treats, games and costume contest.

And if you really just aren’t up for going out or have too much studying, you can always just stay in and pass out candy to trick-or-treaters, even in the dorms.
