Emmys don't have anything on Oscars

The 60th annual Emmy Awards show is on at 8 p.m. tonight on ABC, and forgive me for this, but who cares?

Granted, I’m a bigger fan of film than TV. And although I watch the Oscars sometimes, if I really am pulling for a particular movie or an actor, the Emmys are like Oscar’s annoying kid brother.

I mean, seriously, who has ever heard of Jon Hamm, Best Dramatic Actor nominee from AMC’s “Mad Men”? And for that matter, who really watches “Mad Men,” no matter how good it might be? It’s on a channel that’s supposed to show movies, for crying out loud!

And am I really supposed to care if Jeff Probst beats out Ryan Seacrest for Best Reality Host?

Should anyone really care?

Mad Men is great. AMC still plays movies 95% of the time, but this is a welcomed break. You do know they make DVDs now, right?

No. No one should care – and aparently no one DID care. It was nice to see that this year brought the lowest number of viewers ever.

Note to Hollyweird: No one wants to watch you pat yourself on the back.
