'Twilight' looks terrible, doesn't deserve hype
Ugh.
Call me a hypocrite — I was a huge fan of the Harry Potter novels as a kid, so I know a little bit about how audiences will flock to the theaters in anticipation of their favorite novel’s big-screen adaptation.
And apparently the novels were popular enough in the fantasy and sci-fi genres to warrant the adaptation.
But come on, “Twilight” might very well be the campiest thing I’ve ever heard of for a movie.
It doesn’t even sound cool. Vampires doing their best rendition of “Romeo and Juliet”? No thanks.
Unfortunately, the film made a ton of money at the box office, and talks are already in place to adapt a sequel.
There’s not much I can do except boycott the film. I’ve probably already made things worse by writing about the movie and giving it more press — but, whatever, some views just have to be known.
The only thing I can say is, if you’re that big into vampires, watch “True Blood” on HBO every Sunday. If there’s anything I want from my vampire stories, I want them to be sexy.
