Video games meet real world

Would you want to watch people sit and play video games on a TV show?

What if the people get to act out the video game in a “real world challenge”?

A new show on the Sci Fi Channel, called “WCG GameQuest,” has contestants compete against one another through video games and in face-to-face challenges.

For example, if the contestants are playing “Donkey Kong Country,” maybe they’ll compete against each other in the game and then have to hurl barrels at each other in real life.

OK, so maybe “Donkey Kong” isn’t the best example.

But contestants do gain points both from the video game itself and real world competition, and those with the lowest score are voted off.

One of the contestants is then chosen as the “Best All-Around Gamer”.

I guess the show has potential, but only to watch people act out video games in real life.

The part where we have to sit and watch them beat “Super Mario World” (without warps) is kind of lame.
