Conniving co-anchor exposes too much
News anchors can really be snaky.
Larry Mendte, a former anchor on the Philadelphia station KYW-TV, was sentenced to six months of house arrest for reading his co-anchor’s e-mail and spilling her secrets to the press.
In addition to the house arrest, Mendte must pay a $5,000 fine and do community service.
Alycia Lane, Mendte’s co-anchor, had photos of herself in a bikini that she sent to a married co-worker splashed across various mediums.
This sounds like something straight out of “Mean Girls.” Apparently Mendte was jealous that Lane made more money than him. Still, is that grounds for breaking into her e-mail and spreading around her nearly nude pics?
It just goes to show that TV personalities are not perfect. They may pretend to be bantering back and forth with each other as the camera zooms out after the nightly news, but under their breathe they could very well be cursing at each other or making fun of each other’s haircut.
From the other side of the screen, it’s impossible to tell.

Sorry to be picky

“Apparently Mendte was jealous that Lane made more money than him.” I believe you mean “… more money than he.”
Because you could rightly say in this sentence, “… more money than he does.” But you would not say, “… more money than him does.”
I hate to be a grammar cop, but you are not just a reader posting a comment, you are a young journalist submitting a piece for publication and basic grammar matters. Your editor should have caught this. We all make mistakes especially with English grammar but the press is held to a higher standard. Consider the consequences to a business manager submitting a plagiarized report to his senior executives and a journalism student plagiarizing an article here. There would be two vastly different consequences. Again sorry to be so picky, but it really is important.

It’s just a blog, not an article. And you aren’t sorry, you’re a douche.
