Barb Barton, a staple in the Lansing folk music scene, has put together an incredible line-up to celebrate the release of her fifth CD âComing Homeâ, a delicious collection of both originals and cover tunes. The stellar list of guest artists includes Kitty Donohoe, Pat Madden, Linda Abar, and Rachel Alexander, as well as musicians from the east side of the State such as Carol Levack, Kathy Morris, Terri Stangl, and the popular Native American duet of Helen Roy and David Fuhst. The celebratory concert will feature songs from the new CD, with a second set showcase featuring Donohoe, Madden, Abar, Levack and Morris, and Roy and Davis.
The concert is being sponsored WLNZ, Bill and Charlieâs Automotive Repair, Circle of Life Healing and Counseling Services, Van Attaâs, Highland Alzheimerâs Residence, Everybody Reads, P. Ann Ryan, ASK ME House, Apple Schram Orchard, MSU Womenâs Council, and Diiva miinwa Davis.
Admission is sliding scale $10-$20. There is plenty of free parking and the building is handicap accessible. Refreshments will be provided.

Eclectic night of rock n' roll. Lake Effect a rock/funk/reggae band from Kalamazoo performs a high energy music perfect for packing dance floors. In the past year the band has drawn large audiences across the mid-west and has gained attention from major labels, reps, and media. The band will release their first full length album this summer with a release party on June 21rst at the Majestic Theater in Detroit.
